It’s A Royal Celebration As Prince Louis Marks 8

Prince Louis, the youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Kate and William, celebrated his birthday on Thursday, April 23.

The royal family commemorated the event with a royal tradition of sharing a new picture of the young prince.
The photo was taken earlier this month in Cornwall, England, by the award-winning royal and environmental photographer Matt Porteous.

Every year, the royal couple release a portrait of each of their three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10 and Prince Louis.

This is their way of responding to well-wishers who send them congratulatory messages.

Professional photographers sometimes take the photos, but it is also reported that Kate Middleton sometimes also takes the yearly pictures.

In 2025, the Prince wore jeans for his birthday portrait, said to be the first time Louis wore long trousers rather than shorts in his birthday picture. It’s a trendy rule that the upper-class boys in Britain wear shorts with knee socks instead of trousers, considered a timeless fashion.

Earlier this month, many could not help but notice that Prince Louis looked more grown-up at his first public appearance this year as the royal family attended Easter Matins Service at St. George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
