Uba Sani has called on pharmacists to protect the integrity of their profession by addressing quackery and unethical practices in the healthcare sector
TThe governor made the call at the public presentation of a book titled “Professor Ahmed Tijjani Mora: A Pillar of Pharmacy Regulation in Nigeria” held in Kaduna to mark the 70th birthday of Professor Ahmed Tijani Mora.Represented by his Principal Private Secretary, Professor Bello Ayuba, the governor said pharmacists and other healthcare professionals must uphold standards that promote effective healthcare delivery and public safety.
He described Mora as a respected figure in the pharmacy profession whose contributions to teaching, mentorship and regulation have had lasting impact. According to the governor, preserving the academic and professional legacy of experienced practitioners is important for future generations.
Uba Sani also highlighted achievements of his administration in the health sector, including the upgrade of 255 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state and the operationalisation of the 300-bed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital.
He said the government had also upgraded 15 general hospitals and improved the welfare of health workers through the implementation of CONHESS and CONMESS salary structures. The governor further cited investments in education, agriculture and infrastructure, while stating that improved peace and stability in Kaduna State had encouraged economic and social development.
