Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested three persons with disabilities (PWDs) for alleged drug trafficking in Anambra State and Kwara State.
The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, May 10, 2026, noting that the arrests followed targeted interdiction operations based on intelligence.
According to the statement, a 60-year-old suspect, Romanus Nwabara, was apprehended on Wednesday, May 6, at Akpaka Forest in Onitsha, where he was allegedly found in possession of 250 grams of skunk packaged in retail sachets.
In a separate operation at Ogbunike, also in Anambra, NDLEA operatives on Thursday, May 7, arrested another suspect, Amos Kenneth, 25. He was reportedly found with 160.3 grams of Tramadol (225mg and 100mg), 80 pills of Diazepam, 38.23 grams of Exol 5, and 176.93 grams of skunk.
Meanwhile, in Kwara State, operatives on patrol along Bode Saadu on Friday, May 8, intercepted a commercial vehicle. During a search, a passenger identified as Usman Salisu was allegedly found with 6.3 kilograms of skunk concealed in a brown school bag.
The NDLEA said the arrests highlight its ongoing crackdown on illicit drug trafficking across the country, reiterating its commitment to intensifying operations against drug networks regardless of the status or condition of suspects.
