Two Women Killed in Tree-Felling, Electrocution Incident in Plateau Community

Two women have died following a tree-felling and electrocution incident in Langtang North Local Government Area, leaving residents of the Tabbat community in mourning.
According to residents, the incident occurred on Monday morning when a man was reportedly cutting down a tree in the area. A resident, Innocent Gwanlne, said the tree fell onto overhead electricity wires during the process, causing an electric pole to collapse on two women who were nearby.
Another resident, Nanbyen Nantel, said the victims were believed to have been electrocuted and struck by the falling pole. She added that the women died at the scene before help could arrive.The incident drew sympathisers to the area as residents expressed shock and grief over the tragedy.
Community members described the deaths as painful and called for greater caution during activities involving tree felling near electricity infrastructure.There was no immediate official statement from emergency authorities or the power distribution company at the time of filing this report.
