A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the Obingwa, Osisioma Ngwa and Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Solomon Akpulonu, has commended a planned prayer summit aimed at seeking solutions to the recurring road accidents along a section of the Aba–Ikot Ekpene Highway. The prayer summit, organised by Agalaba Full Squad, a socio-cultural group, is scheduled for June 29, 2026.

According to the organisers, the event is intended to pray for safety and an end to the loss of lives reported along the highway and surrounding communities. Reacting to the initiative, Akpulonu described the frequent accidents on the road as a serious concern that requires urgent attention from all stakeholders.

He said that while practical measures and road safety interventions should continue to be pursued, spiritual support through prayer could also play a role in mobilising communities and fostering hope. Akpulonu expressed support for the theme of the summit, drawn from 2 Chronicles 7:14, and encouraged residents, particularly those from the Agalaba (Obingwa East) area, to participate in the programme.

According to him, the initiative provides an opportunity for community members to unite in seeking solutions to a challenge that has affected many families. The organisers say the summit will bring together residents, faith leaders and other stakeholders to pray for safer roads and the preservation of lives along the highway corridor.
