Ekiti Election: Oyebanji secures polling unit

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won his polling unit in Saturday’s Ekiti State governorship election.
The APC candidate in the election results announced at Polling Unit 003, Ward 06, Okelele, Ikogosi Ekiti, polled 326 votes.

The African Democratic Congress polled two votes, while the Action Democratic Party and African Action Congress recorded one vote each while three votes were declared void.
The result is as follows:
APC – 326
ADC – 2
ADP – 1
AAC – 1
Void votes – 3
Oyebanji, who is seeking a second term on the platform of the APC, voted at Polling Unit 003, Ward 06, Okelele, Ikogosi Ekiti, alongside his wife, Olayemi, at about 11:38 am on Saturday.
Speaking after casting his vote, the governor expressed confidence that the APC would surpass its target of 500,000 votes in the election.
He also commended voter turnout and urged residents to remain patient with the Independent National Electoral Commission over reported technical glitches, expressing confidence that no eligible voter would be disenfranchised
