FCT projects are with Tinubu’s support – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Monday declared that projects being commissioned across Abuja would not have been possible without the support of President Bola Tinubu.

Wike spoke during the commissioning of the Water Supply Network To Karu Satellite Town as part of projects to mark Tinubu’s third year anniversary.

The president was represented at the event by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

According to Wike: “Mr President you will recall that last year when you were having the second year anniversary and commissioning of Abuja Greater Water Supply, you did say that we should move from the city to the Satellite Town, and in the budget of 2025 under the National Budget, you included water supply to the Satellite Towns in AMAC, Karu, and it’s neighbouring communities, and also in Bwari. So you provided water for two area councils.

“Mr President because you directed the full and early release of what was provided in the national budget, today, less than one year you have come back to commission the provision of water in Karu and its neighbouring communities.

“But for your support, it won’t have been possible, in just one year, this contract was awarded like the ES has said, it was awarded in August last year and we are in June commissioning it fully which is less than one year. On July 14, we will also commission the one in Bwari Area Council.

“Like you have said it’s not only providing infrastructure in the city, it’s not only providing roads in the satellite towns but that which is very fundamental which is water must also be given to the people.

“I’m sure that the community would be happy and smiling that to the glory of God the Renewed Hope Agenda is working and people can see it.”
