Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in maintaining peace and security across the state. The governor made the pledge during the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) interdenominational church service held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Nukkai, Jalingo. The event was attended by military personnel, government officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other dignitaries.
Addressing the congregation, Kefas commended officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army for their service, patriotism, and commitment to protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity and safeguarding lives and property. He also acknowledged the sacrifices made by military personnel in the line of duty.
The governor described the Nigerian Army as a key institution in preserving national unity, strengthening democratic governance, and promoting security. He pledged continued collaboration between the state government, security agencies, and communities to address security challenges.
Delivering the homily, Very Rev. Fr. Ephraim Sani described military service as a calling that requires courage, discipline, sacrifice, and integrity. He urged military authorities to continue providing personnel with modern equipment and technology to improve operational effectiveness.
Commander of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. Chukwuemeka Akaliro, thanked the Taraba State Government for its support and commended officers and soldiers for their dedication to duty. The church service formed part of activities marking the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration, which honours the service and sacrifices of Nigerian Army personnel.
