25-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Cuts Off Boyfriend’s Manhood At Hotel Over Marriage Betrayal

A 25-year-old woman, Maimunatu Idris, has been arrested by the Kano State Police Command for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend and severing his genitals at Durbar Hotel in the Badawa area of Kano State, Nigeria.

According to a statement from Police Public Relations Officer CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the incident occurred at about 12:50 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, after the hotel’s management alerted operatives to a violent altercation on the premises.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Idris, who hails from Maigatari Local Government Area of Jigawa State, allegedly severed her boyfriend’s manhood with a knife following a dispute triggered by his decision to marry another woman.

Police say the Divisional Police Officer of Badawa Division led a team of detectives to the scene, where the suspect was arrested and the knife allegedly used in the attack was recovered as an exhibit.

The victim was rushed to Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has condemned the incident alongside a separate mob attack reported in the state around the same period, warning residents against taking the law into their own hands and vowing thorough investigations into both cases, with prosecution to follow.
