Al-Mustapha Rejects Ex-DSS Officer’s Claims On Abacha’s Death

Former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, has rejected allegations made by a former Department of State Services (DSS) operative, Mr Amachree, over the circumstances surrounding the late military ruler’s death, describing the account as false.

Speaking with journalists in Kaduna on Saturday, Al-Mustapha said the claims contained in the former DSS official’s book were fabricated and alleged that the author was influenced by unnamed individuals to write them.

“The boy was asked to write the lies by others. I have all the CCTV footages of what happened in my custody, so what he said are not true,” Al-Mustapha said.

He insisted that the version of events presented in the publication did not reflect what actually happened, maintaining that he possessed evidence capable of disproving the allegations.

Al-Mustapha also urged members of the public to disregard the claims, arguing that it was unfair to make what he described as false allegations against someone who could no longer defend himself.

“Just ignore his lies. It’s bad to say such things on someone that is dead,” he said.
