Vine Branch Foundation School @ 30: Donates Food Items, Detergents, Toiletries To Two Ibadan Orphanages

As part of activities to mark its 30th anniversary, Vine Branch Foundation School, an arm of the Vine Branch Ministries International, has donated food items and other relief materials worth several thousands of naira to two orphanage homes in Ibadan.

The beneficiary homes are The Hope Orphanage Home, Oluwo Kekere, Bashorun, and Oyiza Orphanage and Foster Foundation, Felele, Challenge.

Items presented to each orphanage included 50kg bags of rice and beans, yam tubers, 25kg vegetable oil, cartons of Indomie noodles, spaghetti, sanitary pads, detergents and toiletries

The Head of School ( HOS ) Vine Branch Foundation School, Mrs.Titilope Ojo,  said the donation is part of the welfare programmes embarked on from time to time by Vine Branch Ministries as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

“It is also an avenue to let the children know that there are other children who are not so blessed with parents, so that they will know how to be kind to people. And for those in the orphanages to know that we are there for them and God remembers them. We celebrate them, and they matter in society,” she said.

Mrs. Ojo disclosed that the 30th anniversary celebration will feature a hymn festival, while a luncheon and award ceremony are scheduled for Saturday.

The church’s Founder, Pastor Sola Kolade, will be honoured alongside teachers who have spent 10 years and above with the school, and individuals who have contributed remarkably to the school’s growth.

“We are also going to celebrate our staff with their spouses, alumni members of the school, past teachers, and past parents. It’s just some sort of family reunion for the whole of Vine Branch Foundation School,” she added.

The programme will climax on Sunday, July 26, 2026, with a Thanksgiving Service

The Chief Executive Officer of The Hope Orphanage Home, Mrs. Tosin Togun, represented by the Admin Manager, Miss Rebecca Ademola, and the Director of Oyiza Orphanage and Foster Foundation, Mrs. Joy Taiwo, in their separate remarks, expressed gratitude to the school for the gesture.

Mrs. Taiwo said Oyiza Orphanage, which has existed for 25 years, currently caters for 45 children, with 9 in university, 7 graduates, and others in primary and secondary schools and vocational centres.

She appealed for more support from well-meaning Nigerians, noting that the orphanage has a proposed structure for a sick bay, library and other facilities, and  land opposite the home for agricultural purposes to reduce dependence on donors.

“We also need other things like household items, food, medication among others,” she stated.

A parent, Mrs. Queen Adewale, commended the school management for maintaining high moral and educational standards, describing it as “top notch.”

The donation team comprised teachers, parents and alumni members of Vine Branch Foundation School.
