Araraume Disowns Fake Statement on Imo North APC Primary, Reaffirms Loyalty to Party

The Office of Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume has dismissed as false and unauthorised a publication circulating on various media platforms and purportedly issued by the former senator, describing it as the handiwork of mischief makers seeking to create disunity within the All Progressives Congress in Imo State.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the former lawmaker specifically disowned a publication titled “A Message of Gratitude, Unity, and a Clarion Call to Rebuild Okigwe Zone,” insisting that he neither authored nor approved its release.
The statement described the publication as a complete fabrication deliberately designed to mislead the public, distort Senator Araraume’s position and generate unnecessary political tension within the APC in Imo State.
According to the statement, Senator Araraume remains a loyal, disciplined and committed member of the APC, stressing that his allegiance to the party, its leadership and ideals remains unwavering.
The former senator also clarified that he is awaiting the party’s official position and final decision on the Imo North Senatorial primary, dismissing claims in the fake publication that he had declared himself the APC candidate.
He maintained that any communication on the matter would only come through recognised and authorised channels.
The statement further reaffirmed Senator Araraume’s cordial relationship with the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, dismissing reports of any political disagreement between them.
It said any suggestion of hostility or friction between both leaders exists only in the imagination of those behind the fabricated publication.
The senator reiterated his belief that the success of the APC depends on unity, cooperation and mutual respect among party stakeholders, pledging to continue working towards strengthening the party.
He accused the authors of the false publication of attempting to sow discord and misrepresent his views for political advantage, insisting that their efforts would fail.
Senator Araraume therefore urged APC members, the people of Imo North Senatorial District, residents of Imo State, the media and the general public to disregard the publication in its entirety, describing it as false, misleading and without consequence.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the APC, the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging to continue supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peace, unity and development in Imo State and across Nigeria.
