CWAY Group Unveils Many Quality Products

For more than two decades, Nigerians have interacted with the products of CWay Group in homes, offices, schools, supermarkets, restaurants and event centres across the country.

From bottled water and dispenser machines to milk drinks, yoghurt, energy beverages and fruit drinks, the company has quietly built one of the most extensive food and beverage portfolios in Nigeria.

While many consumers first came to know the company through its Water business, CWay’s product range extends far beyond drinking water, covering several categories designed to meet the needs of children, families, young adults, and corporate consumers.

Founded by Chinese businessman, Onest Che, the CWAY Group is a multinational manufacturing company of Chinese origin with operations across Africa and Asia.The company established its Nigerian operations in 2000 with a focus on hygienic drinking water solutions. Over the years, CWAY expanded aggressively into food and beverages, investing heavily in manufacturing facilities, product development, and distribution networks across the country. Today, the company operates numerous factories in Nigeria and maintains one of the largest footprints in the country’s beverage sector.

THE WATER BRAND

CWay Water remains the flagship product of the company. The company entered the market at a time when access to hygienically packaged drinking water was becoming increasingly important for homes and businesses. Its refillable 18.9-litre dispenser water quickly became popular among offices, homes, schools and institutions, helping to revolutionise water consumption habits in many Nigerian cities.

Today, the company produces a wide range of water products including:

* 18.9-litre refill dispenser water

* CWay Prime dispenser water

* Table water in various bottle sizes

* Premium bottled water products

* Water dispenser machines and accessories

The company’s water division has maintained a strong market presence for more than two decades and continues to be one of the most recognisable water brands in Nigeria. According to the company, its production facilities are equipped with modern technology and operate under international manufacturing standards and regulatory requirements.

CWAY BEVERAGE

While water remains its flagship product, CWay’s biggest expansion has come through its food and beverage arm, which officially commenced operations in 2004.

The company initially entered the beverage market with fruit drinks before gradually diversifying into milk beverages, yoghurt drinks, plant-based products and energy drinks. This strategy has transformed the company into one of Nigeria’s leading beverage manufacturers.

NUTRI MILK: ONE OF NIGERIA’S POPULAR MILK DRINKS

Among CWay’s most successful products is Nutri Milk, a fruit-flavoured milk drink that has become popular among children and adults alike.

Introduced in 2007, the product has remained one of the company’s strongest brands, with several flavour variants introduced over the years. The drink combines milk with fruit flavours and has established itself as a familiar sight in schools, supermarkets and neighbourhood stores across Nigeria.

The success of Nutri Milk also led to the creation of additional products under the same family, including specially formulated variants aimed at younger consumers.

NUTRI MILK SUPERKIDS

Recognising the growing demand for children’s nutritional beverages, the company introduced Nutri Milk Superkids.

The product was specifically designed for children and includes nutritional formulations targeted at growth and development. It remains one of the company’s major offerings within the children’s beverage segment.

NUTRI YO: YOGHURT

Another major success story for the company is Nutri Yo, its yoghurt drink brand.

Produced through natural fermentation processes, Nutri Yo has grown into one of the notable yoghurt brands in Nigeria’s highly competitive dairy market. The product contains proteins, vitamins and minerals and is available in multiple variants to suit consumer preferences.

The popularity of yoghurt drinks in Nigeria has increased significantly over the last decade, and CWay has continued to invest in expanding its production capabilities in this category, including commissioning a modern yoghurt production facility in Ogun State in 2021.

NUTRI SOYA: CATERING TO PLANT-BASED CONSUMERS

As consumer tastes evolved and demand for plant-based alternatives increased, CWay expanded into soy beverages with Nutri Soya.

The product targets consumers seeking dairy alternatives and plant protein options while maintaining affordability for the mass market. Nutri Soya has become one of the company’s notable innovations within the health-conscious beverage category.

NUTRI CHOCO

The company also introduced Nutri Choco, a chocolate-flavoured beverage aimed particularly at younger consumers and chocolate lovers.

The product forms part of the broader strategy to diversify its offerings beyond traditional milk and yoghurt drinks.

FRUIT DRINKS FOR NIGERIAN CONSUMERS

CWay’s journey into beverages began with fruit drinks, specifically peach and apple variants, which were among the company’s earliest products after entering the food and beverages market in 2004.

Over time, the company expanded its fruit drink offerings to include several flavour options under various product lines aimed at different demographics and consumption occasions.

MACA PLUS AND ENERGY DRINKS

Nigeria’s fast-growing energy drink market also attracted CWay’s attention.

The company introduced Maca Plus and other energy beverage products targeted at young adults, professionals and consumers seeking functional beverages for active lifestyles.

The products joined an increasingly competitive market while helping diversify the company’s portfolio beyond traditional dairy beverages.

BOXI ENERGY DRINK

Another addition to the company’s growing portfolio is BOXI Energy Drink, which has expanded CWay’s footprint within Nigeria’s energy beverage category. The product joins a list of functional beverages aimed at younger consumers and individuals seeking convenient energy solutions.

TEA-BASED INNOVATIONS

CWay has also ventured into tea beverages, introducing products that are relatively uncommon in the Nigerian market.

Among these are:

* Darjeeling Ice Tea

* Assam Milk Tea Drink

* Cappuccino Milk Drink

These products reflect the company’s efforts to introduce international beverage concepts to Nigerian consumers while adapting them to local tastes and preferences.

The launch of Darjeeling Ice Tea in particular represented one of the company’s major product innovations in recent years as it sought to create alternatives within Nigeria’s ready-to-drink tea segment.

RECENT PRODUCT INTRODUCTIONS

CWay has continued to invest in research and development as consumer preferences evolve.

In recent years, the company unveiled several additional products including:

* Café Coffee Milk

* Fuji Probiotic Drink

* Assam Milk Tea

Company executives stated during the launch that the products were developed in response to growing demand for healthier and more innovative beverage options among Nigerian consumers.

SNACKS AND OTHER PRODUCT CATEGORIES

Beyond beverages and water, CWay’s business interests also extend into snacks and other food categories as part of its broader manufacturing operations.

The company has continued to explore new opportunities within Nigeria’s food processing industry while leveraging its existing manufacturing infrastructure and nationwide distribution channels.

EXTENSIVE MANUFACTURING PRESENCE

One factor that has supported the growth of CWay’s product portfolio is its investment in manufacturing infrastructure.

According to company information, CWay has invested in 19 factories globally, with 17 located in Nigeria. Its operations span Lagos, Ogun State, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Enugu among other locations, enabling efficient production and nationwide distribution.

The company says its facilities operate under internationally recognised food safety standards and quality management systems aimed at ensuring product consistency and consumer safety.

From dispenser water that has become a staple in offices and homes to yoghurt drinks, milk beverages and energy products, CWay has gradually evolved into one of Nigeria’s most diversified beverage manufacturers.

Its products can be found in supermarkets, convenience stores, schools, eateries and event centres across the country, reflecting the company’s growing influence within the nation’s food and beverage industry.
