FCT Fire Service Reviews Fire Router System, Advises Subscribers Against Long-Term Renewals

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service has commenced a comprehensive administrative and technical review of its Fire Router service framework, urging subscribers to refrain from making long-term subscription renewals pending the outcome of the exercise.
The Director of the FCT Fire Service, Adebayo Z. Amiola, disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja, saying the review is aimed at ensuring that the Fire Router system aligns with the service’s strategic objectives, operational standards and the overall public interest.
According to him, the Fire Router service, introduced through a collaborative partnership with technical service provider Prime Alert Secure Limited, is undergoing a thorough evaluation to determine its future operational framework.
Amiola appealed to members of the public and existing subscribers to remain patient while the review is being concluded.
He advised subscribers who already have Fire Router devices installed to retain them until the FCT Fire Service issues further directives.
“Members of the public are requested to exercise patience while service continuity and future structural arrangements are carefully evaluated,” he said.
He further urged subscribers whose service plans are due for renewal to seek clarification from the FCT Fire Service through its official communication channels before committing to long-term renewals.
“Subscribers whose service subscriptions are approaching renewal are strongly advised to seek direct clarification through the official communication channels of the FCT Fire Service before committing to long-term renewals,” Amiola added.
The director, however, assured residents that the review would not affect emergency response operations, stressing that the FCT Fire Service’s conventional emergency fire reporting and response system remains fully functional.
“The conventional emergency fire reporting and response services of the FCT Fire Service remain fully operational. Citizens are urged to continue reporting fire emergencies through existing official channels without hesitation,” he said.
Amiola also expressed appreciation to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his continued support and commitment to strengthening public institutions.
He assured stakeholders that the service would provide timely updates as decisions emerge from the ongoing review of the Fire Router system.
