Gbajabiamila: ‘If NASS Wasn’t Playing Along With Tinubu, It Should Have Queried Him’ – Frank Tie-Tie

A legal practitioner, Frank Tie-Tie, has criticised the National Assembly over the allegation of bribery against the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Naijaonpoint recalls that ‘the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, alleged that Gbajabiamila received ₦400 million through a proxy and demanded an additional ₦200 million to secure his appointment.

The Presidency has, however, debunked the allegation, saying Gbajabiamila cannot write letters or give appointments.

Speaking on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ programme on Thursday, Tie-Tie described the development as a huge national failure, saying the National Assembly should query President Tinubu.

He said, “We are witnessing the institutional destruction of our country. This is a huge intelligence failure on a national scale.

“If there is an independent report and the President tolerated this, it is an impeachable offence.

“If the National Assembly wasn’t playing along with the President, it should have queried him. This is an embarrassment.”

Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has demanded an urgent probe of all parties, including the Central Bank of Nigeria and the National Assembly, involved in the bribery scandal of Gbajabiamila.

Atiku stated that the presidency’s desperate attempt to explain away the scandal surrounding the alleged fake government agency has inadvertently exposed a far more disturbing reality under Tinubu’s administration.

According to the former Vice President, the allegations are too monumental to ignore, stressing that the National Assembly is thoroughly exposed and the Central Bank of Nigeria cannot escape scrutiny either.
