Gen Lar Visits Military Formations In FCT, Seeks For More Collaboration

In a bid to strengthen collaboration across military formations within abuja, the Commander Army Headquarters (AHQ) Garrison, Major General John Lar, on Wednesday 22 July 2026, paid a familiarization visit to Naval Base Abuja, 053 Headquarters Nigerian Airforce (NAF) Camp, and Armed Forces Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Workshop (AFEME) Abuja.
Speaking during the visits, the Commander AHQ Garrison Maj Gen Lar expressed appreciation for the support already being extended to AHQ Garrison and described his visit as part of his efforts to connect with key stakeholders in the security architecture of the Federal Capital Territory.
He reaffirmed his commitment to fostering stronger collaboration with sister services and tri-service establishments, noting that effective cooperation remains critical to achieving the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s operational objectives. He further reiterated that the familiarization tour was aimed at engaging with commanders and heads of establishments, assessing existing partnerships and identifying areas for improved collaboration.
In their separate remarks, the commander Naval Base Abuja, Commodore Oluseyi Oladipo; the Commander 053 HQ NAF Camp, Air Comodore Emeng Imoke, and the Commanding Officer AFEME, Lieutenant Colonel Y Doka expressed appreciation to the Commander AHQ Garrison for the visit and reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the existing cordial relationship with the AHQ Garrison. They also reiterated their readiness to continue working closely with the AHQ Garrison in promoting jointness, operational effectiveness and the overall objectives of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Highlights of the events included inspections of the Quarter Guard, presentation of souvenirs, signing of the visitors’ book as well as group photographs.
