Sabinus did not arrive in the industry by accident. Nigerian Tribune reported that he started skit-making in 2016 after first trying stand-up comedy. The same report described him as a Port Harcourt entertainer who moved to Lagos in 2019, a step that helped place him closer to Nigeria’s main entertainment market. He also studied Linguistics and Communication at the University of Port Harcourt, according to the interview.
His comedy works because it is close to real life. He often plays a man who wants to make money, avoid disgrace or take advantage of what looks like a big opportunity. But his plans usually collapse. For many viewers, that is the joke. They recognise the pressure, the ambition and the disappointment.
This has made Sabinus valuable in a crowded skit-making space. Many creators go viral once or twice and disappear. Sabinus has remained visible because his character is clear. Audiences know what they are coming to watch. Brands also know what they are buying: mass reach, humour and a strong connection with everyday people.
Nigeria’s skit industry is now a serious part of the entertainment economy. Forbes Africa reported in 2024 that Nigerian skit makers were turning online humour into real income, with creators earning from platforms, adverts, live shows and brand deals. Sabinus fits that shift. His income streams include skits, endorsements, acting, event hosting, live shows and other brand partnerships.
Still, public claims about his net worth should be treated with caution. Some estimates place him between $500,000 and $900,000, but those figures are not confirmed personal earnings.
