“It Is Safer To Keep My Personal Life Private”- Funnybone Explains Why He Doesn’t Flaunt His Family Online

- Nigerian comedian Funnybone, real name Chibunna Stanley, prioritizes family privacy.
- He chooses to keep his wife and children out of the public eye, especially on social media.
- This decision reflects his desire to separate his public persona from his personal life.
Nigerian comedian and actor Chibunna Stanley, better known as Funnybone, has opened up on his decision to keep his wife and children away from public attention, especially on social media.
The comedian made the revelation during a recent appearance on The Moraya Show, where he explained that he values privacy and prefers to separate his public persona from his family life.
During the interview, the host asked if he was married, and Funnybone confirmed that he is happily married with two children.
When asked why he rarely shares pictures or details about his family online despite being a public figure, the comedian said he intentionally chooses to protect his personal life from unnecessary exposure.
“In a world where people are just there to look at what is not looking at them, it is safer for you to keep your personal life private,” Funnybone said.
He added that while he is known as Funnybone on stage and in public spaces, his identity at home is different.
“Outside and on the stage, I am Funnybone, but at home, I am Chibunna,” he stated.
Speaking further about the future of Nigeria’s comedy industry, Funnybone expressed optimism that Nigerian comedians can take their craft to a global audience.
According to him, achieving international recognition would require improvements in how comedy is produced, packaged, and promoted.
“We are hoping to export our crafts to the world, globally. And for that to happen, the ecosystem needs to change. So we need to change our approach to the production, packaging and marketing of comedy in Nigeria,” he said.
