Lady Shares Heartbreaking Reason She Stopped Speaking to Her Sister Abroad in 2008

A Nigerian woman has sparked reactions on social media after revealing why she cut off communication with her sister, who lives abroad, nearly two decades ago.
In a post shared on X, @Ogodosandra recounted an incident from 2008 that she said permanently changed her relationship with her sister.
According to her, her sister had called their aunt from abroad, and she was excited about the opportunity to speak with her because they had shared a close bond whenever her sister visited Nigeria.
However, she claimed that before the phone was handed over to her, her sister—unaware that she could hear the conversation—made a remark that deeply hurt her.
According to the X user, her sister said:
“Don’t give her the phone. She’ll ask me for money. I’m about to send you money.”
The woman said she immediately handed the phone back to their aunt and pretended the call had dropped because of poor network coverage.
She added that what made the comment even more painful was that she had never asked her sister for money, not even when her sister was still living in Nigeria.
The incident, she said, marked the end of their relationship, as she chose to distance herself from her sister from that day forward.
Her story has since gone viral, with many social media users expressing sympathy over the alleged remark, while others encouraged reconciliation, arguing that misunderstandings within families can sometimes be resolved through honest conversations.
