Christians have been called upon to deepen their understanding of Scripture to transform their relationship with the Creator and manifest the inherent power of God’s word in their daily lives.
Rev. Fr. Andrew Mozia gave the charge while delivering the Homily at the celebration of the Holy Mass on Sunday at the Catholic Mass Centre, Maris Schools, Amachai, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Delving into the profound mechanics of Scripture, Fr. Mozia emphasized that a deep, intimate knowledge of divine revelation is foundational to a faithful life.
“A good knowledge of the word of God will make us understand how to relate to God.
“There is power in the word of God; once it is spoken, it must surely come to pass because His word is so powerful, living, and active.
“We should trust in God and do His will by opening up to Him; His word is always alive.
”From the parable of the sower, as Jesus has given us, we should endeavour to be properly rooted in God and bear fruit.
“Which type of heart do we have? Is it the heart that finds fault with the men of God, the one that will fall easily into temptation, or the one that will hear the word of God and apply it to their life?
”Let the word of God reflect in our lives; let it bear good fruit in our lives; make a conscious effort to be fruitful; be sincere in your actions; make efforts not to be envious.
“Let the word of God find a home in you, create time and use your talent for your Creator because Jesus said, ‘He who has will be given more,’” Fr. Mozia said.
During the Holy Mass, which featured thanksgiving by parishioners, the Executive Committee of St. Vincent de Paul was inaugurated.
Mrs. Ngozi Okolo is the coordinator of the society, while the members of the Executive Committee include Mrs. Rita Anigbo, Mrs. Charity Ejakpomovi, Mrs. Esther Omoko, and Mrs. Izuka Regina.
The Priest, on behalf of the Mass Centre, commiserated with Comrade Fidelis Egugbo and his family on the loss of his father-in-law, Okwa Johnson Ugbeleme, who died at the age of 81.
