Odubu At 69: Idahosa Salutes Ex-Edo Deputy Governor, Describes Him As Exemplary Statesman

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has paid a glowing tribute to former Deputy Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Pius Egberanmwen Odubu, on his 69th birthday, described him as an exemplary statesman whose enduring legacy of service continues to inspire leaders across generations.
Idahosa, in a congratulatory message released on Wednesday through his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, said Odubu’s distinguished career in public service has been defined by integrity, sacrifice and an unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Edo State.
According to Idahosa, the former deputy governor’s years in office remain a reference point for purposeful leadership, humility and dedication to the welfare of the people.
“Your life has been one of sacrifice, integrity and unwavering commitment to the service of our people. Your tenure as Deputy Governor remains a testament to purposeful leadership, humility and dedication to the growth and progress of Edo State,” Idahosa stated.
He added that beyond his accomplishments in office, Odubu has continued to play a vital role in deepening democratic governance and mentoring younger political leaders, describing him as a respected voice whose wealth of experience remains invaluable to Edo State and the nation.
The Deputy Governor expressed gratitude to God for preserving the former deputy governor’s life and prayed for continued divine guidance, sound health and wisdom.
“As you celebrate this remarkable milestone, I join your family, friends, political associates and the good people of Edo State in thanking God for His faithfulness over your life. It is my prayer that He grants you many more years in good health, wisdom, peace and continued fulfilment as you remain a source of counsel and inspiration to our state and the nation,” he said.
Idahosa wished the former deputy governor a joyful 69th birthday celebration and many more years of impactful service to Edo State, Nigeria and humanity.
