Oyo SSG Commissions Newly Constructed Amotekun Office In Oluyole, Hails Olatunji’s Visionary Leadership

…As Oyo APM Deputy Governorship Candidate Rally Grassroots Support Ahead Of 2027 Polls

IBADAN – The Secretary to the Oyo State Government (SSG), Professor Musbaudeen Babatunde, has commissioned a newly constructed Omituntun Amotekun Office at Ayegun in Oluyole Local Government Area.

The Oyo SSG described the Executive Chairman of the council, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, as a visionary leader whose commitment to grassroots development and security has continued to impact lives positively.

The commissioning ceremony, which recorded a large turnout of political leaders, traditional rulers, community stakeholders and residents, was attended by the Allied People’s Movement (APM) Deputy Governorship candidate, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, alongside other top government officials and party faithful.

The event also featured the presentation of empowerment equipment to beneficiaries as part of efforts to boost economic activities at the grassroots.

In a further demonstration of support for community policing and grassroots security architecture, three motorcycles were donated to strengthen security operations.

One motorcycle was allocated to the newly commissioned Omituntun Amotekun Office, while another was presented to the Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS), whose office was commissioned in the area last week.

The remaining motorcycle is expected to complement security patrol activities within the Oluyole local government. Speaking shortly after unveiling the facility, Professor Babatunde commended Olatunji for prioritising the security of lives and property, noting that no meaningful development could thrive in an atmosphere of insecurity.

He urged residents to continue supporting the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, stressing that sustained cooperation between government and the people remained vital to maintaining the state’s developmental trajectory.

According to him, the achievements recorded under the present administration across various sectors should encourage the electorate to consolidate on the gains by supporting the APM in the forthcoming elections.

The SSG also expressed confidence in Olatunji’s capacity to represent Oluyole Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, describing his performance as council chairman as evidence of his competence and commitment to public service.

“From what he has demonstrated at the local government level, I have no doubt that Engr. Akeem Olatunji possesses the experience, vision and capacity to deliver quality representation for the people of Oluyole at the National Assembly,” he said.
