Pastor Daysman Oyakhilome has urged Christians to embrace prayer as a critical component of evangelism, declaring that effective soul winning cannot be achieved through human effort alone but requires sustained spiritual intercession.
Speaking during a recent teaching session, Oyakhilome said believers who desire success in winning souls for Christ must first become committed prayer laborers, stressing that prayer prepares hearts to receive the Gospel and creates the spiritual environment necessary for lasting transformation.
According to him, many Christians devote considerable energy to preaching and outreach but often neglect the ministry of intercession, which he described as the foundation upon which successful evangelism is built.
“Every successful soul winner must first become a prayer laborer,” the cleric said, noting that Christians should not only speak to people about Christ but also speak to God about those they seek to reach.
He explained that evangelism is a partnership between believers and God, where prayer helps remove spiritual barriers, opens hearts to divine truth, and enables the Holy Spirit to work effectively in the lives of individuals.
Oyakhilome further stated that Christians who consistently record greater success in outreach activities are often those who spend significant time praying for souls before engaging in evangelistic efforts.
