The Royal Ambassadors of the Nigerian Baptist Convention have unveiled the Rev. Joseph J. Hayab Hostel in Oyo Town, Oyo State, as part of activities marking the organisation’s centenary celebrations. The hostel was commissioned on Saturday, according to a statement released in Kaduna on Sunday.The facility was named in honour of Rev. Joseph J. Hayab in recognition of his contributions to youth development, Christian discipleship and leadership within the Baptist community.
Speaking at the dedication ceremony, President of the Oyo Baptist Conference, Rev. Dr. Ben Tella, represented by the conference chairman, Rev. Dr. Gabriel Kehinde, urged members of the Royal Ambassadors to remain committed to God’s purpose and build lasting legacies through lives of discipline, integrity and service. Drawing from Acts 13:36, Tella encouraged the youths to emulate the example of King David by faithfully serving God and their generation.
Responding to the recognition, Hayab, Chairman of the Royal Ambassadors of Nigeria Patrons Forum and Chairman of the Northern Christian Association (NCA), described the honour as a tribute to the organisation’s shared vision of raising disciplined and purpose-driven young men.
He said the hostel should serve as “a home for destiny,” where future leaders would be nurtured to serve society with integrity. Hayab also thanked the Men’s Missionary Union of the Nigerian Baptist Convention for approving the naming of the facility and commended the leadership and members of the Royal Ambassadors for their commitment to youth development.
The Royal Ambassadors, the boys’ missionary and leadership arm of the Men’s Missionary Union of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, is marking 100 years of youth mentorship, Christian character development and leadership training across Nigeria.
