Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has announced the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Jerry Adams, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election. In a statement announcing the nomination, the governor said the decision followed “wide consultations, deep reflection and prayers” and reflects his administration’s commitment to inclusion, justice, equity and competence.
Sani said the nomination reaffirms the values that have guided his administration since assuming office in May 2023, adding that Kaduna’s ethnic, religious and cultural diversity remains one of the state’s greatest strengths. The governor said his administration has pursued policies aimed at promoting equitable development across the state’s 23 local government areas through investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, water supply, rural development and social protection.
Describing Adams as “an accomplished public servant, seasoned tax administrator and institution builder,” Sani credited him with strengthening KADIRS through reforms focused on innovation, transparency and professionalism, which he said have improved the state’s internally generated revenue.
He urged Kaduna residents to view the nomination beyond ethnic, religious or regional considerations, saying the administration remains committed to building an inclusive and prosperous state. Adams, a Christian from Southern Kaduna, was nominated to succeed Deputy Governor Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe as Sani’s running mate for the 2027 election, according to the governor’s statement.
