2027: Rainbow Coalition Sure Of Tinubu’s Victory In Rivers, Says National Population Commissioner
The federal commissioner representing Rivers State in the National Population Commission (NPC) Professor Itotenaan Ogiri, has stated that the Rainbow Coalition is sure of victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election in the state.
The coalition founded by the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, is made up of prominent members of the Action Alliance (AA), the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ogiri, who is also a member of the Rainbow Coalition’s Reconciliation Committee, spoke on Saturday while performing the foundation laying for the construction of an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Computer Based Tests (CBT) centre at Ayama-Abua in Abua/Odual local government area of the state.
The project, named after former minister of State for Environment, Hon. Udi Odum, is being executed by the Abua/Odual Local Government Council in partnership with the member representing Abua/Odual Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. John Iderima.
“He (Wike) has formed a coalition known as the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State which he is the Leader and right now other states are planning to collapse into the Rainbow Coalition to work with Tinubu in 2027,” he said .
Ogiri therefore called for massive support from the people of Abua/Odual LGA to the FCT Minister so as to deliver on the mandate.
The NPC commissioner said: “So speak to your people, speak to your wives, children, sons, daughters. Don’t stay back, don’t hold back, bring the people to vote massively.
“We are talking about numbers, Abua/Odual will want to be among the top three in Rivers State that will deliver Tinubu and all our candidates in 2027.”
He appealed to the leadership of the Ogbo Abuan clan in the LGA to work with the political leadership of the state led by Wike in order to attract more development to the area.
He said: “Politics is about dragging things to your people because it’s a contest. Everybody is contesting. Today John Dominic Iderima is bringing projects to the seven clans in Abua/Odual.
“We must give him the support, we must give the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu the support. And let me announce to all of us here, Tinubu will be re-elected in 2027.
“Forget about all those who are contesting with him. Of course, it is politics; people must come out and that is why it is called election. But Tinubu will be re-elected in 2027 and by the special grace of God, our leader, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike will still be the strong man of Nigerian politics under Tinubu.”
Ogiri thanked the initiators of the project, the LGA chairman, Hon. Owolobi Micheal Ofori and Iderima for focusing on people-oriented projects.
