Prophet Isa El-Buba has fired back at Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir over his reported description of Christians as “infidels”, with the development renewing attention to the cleric’s earlier controversial comments on Nigeria’s Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Jingir had previously sparked reactions after defending the Muslim-Muslim ticket, saying, “If not for Muslim-Muslim ticket, Christians would think they are more than us.”
The statement generated debate among Nigerians, particularly over the role of religion in politics and whether such comments could deepen existing religious divisions in the country.
