Engineer Kawu Agaka, in a statement issued through his media office, expressed his sincere condolences to the people of Igbesi in Oke Onigbin town, Isin Local Government Area, following the attack by armed bandits on the community.

He described the incident as heartbreaking and assured the affected families and the entire community of his unwavering solidarity during this difficult time.

However, the PDP gubernatorial candidate turned his attention to the state government, condemning what he called the administration’s glaring incompetence in tackling the security crisis that has engulfed Kwara South.

He accused the government of treating the lives of rural dwellers with reckless disregard and failing to fulfil the security promises it made to the people during election campaigns.

Engineer Kawu Agaka charged the government to immediately prioritise the security of the state and stop paying lip service to the escalating attacks.

He insisted that the government owes the people concrete action, not empty condolences, and must deploy all necessary resources to rescue the abducted monarch and other victims while putting an end to the criminal activities terrorising communities.

He further stressed that the incessant kidnappings and violent assaults in Kwara South demand a fundamental shift in the government’s approach to security.

The PDP candidate called for the establishment of robust intelligence networks, improved coordination with local vigilantes, and adequate funding for security agencies operating in the affected areas.

He also reminded the administration that the people of Kwara State are watching and waiting for the government to honour its commitments, warning that any failure to act decisively would not only cost more innocent lives but also erode whatever trust remains between the government and the governed.
