Benjamin Asare Rejoices As Kevin Taylor Fulfils His Promise, Dashes Him $10,000 For Keeping Two Cleansheets In Black Stars World Cup Matches

US-based Ghanaian journalist Kevin Taylor has delivered on his promise to Black Stars and Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, gifting him the $10,000 he pledged during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
During the tournament, Kevin Taylor had promised to reward Benjamin Asare with $5,000 for every clean sheet he kept in a Black Stars match.
The Hearts Of Oak goalkeeper went on to keep two clean sheets, for Ghana’s matches against Panama and England, earning him a total of $10,000.
In a video shared yesterday, Benjamin Asare was seen holding an envelope as he expressed gratitude to Kevin Taylor and to Ghanaians for their support, confirming that the outspoken journalist had followed through on his word.
The gesture has been widely praised online, with many commending both Asare’s performances at the World Cup and Taylor’s decision to honour his promise publicly.
