EPL table: Brighton overtake Arsenal at top, Liverpool draw at Newcastle

Brighton have now overtaken Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.
This follows a resounding 4-0 win over Aston Villa in Sunday’s early kick-off.
The Seagulls scored all four goals in the first half, thanks to a Victor Lindelof own goal and strikes from Maxim De Cuyper and Jack Hinshelwood (brace).
Villa also saw debutant João Gomes sent off, as Unai Emery’s men opened the season with a heavy defeat.
Enzo Maresca began his Manchester City reign with a come-from-behind victory over Bournemouth.
City scored two late goals from Marc Guehi and Josko Gvardiol to seal all three points.
In the late game, Newcastle were held to a 2-2 draw by Liverpool, with Dominik Szobozslai netting a last-gasp penalty.
