A fire outbreak affected part of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) Head Office in Abuja over the weekend, but the bank has assured customers, stakeholders and the general public that its operations remain uninterrupted.
In a statement issued on Monday, the bank said the fire was swiftly contained by emergency responders, preventing extensive damage and ensuring the safety of staff and critical operational infrastructure.
FMBN said all its core banking services, mortgage operations and customer engagements have continued without disruption, assuring contributors to the National Housing Fund (NHF), mortgage beneficiaries and other stakeholders that customer records and essential operational systems remain secure and fully functional.
The bank commended the Federal Fire Service and other emergency agencies for their prompt response, noting that their timely intervention helped contain the blaze and minimise its impact.
It added that an assessment of the affected section of the headquarters is ongoing, while contingency measures have been activated to guarantee uninterrupted service delivery.
FMBN reaffirmed its commitment to providing efficient housing finance services to Nigerians and urged the public to disregard speculation suggesting the fire had affected its operations, insisting that all services remain fully operational.
