Former senior New York police official accused of helping her son flee a shooting
NEW YORK – A high-ranking police official in Westchester County, New York, was charged with attempted murder in New York City on Aug 4, according to the New York Police Department.
The official, Jennifer Lackard, who served as a deputy police commissioner in Mount Vernon until her termination on Aug 4, is accused of helping her son flee the scene of a Bronx shooting this summer, according to two law enforcement officials with knowledge of the charges who were not authorised to speak publicly.
