Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he has not decided which presidential candidate he will support in the next election.
The singer made the clarification while speaking about his uncle’s recent declaration of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
According to Davido, his uncle has publicly stated his intention to back Tinubu, but he personally has not made a similar commitment to any candidate.
“Yes, my uncle came out to announce that he’ll support Tinubu next year. But as for me, I’m not propelled to support anybody yet, right now I don’t have any presidential candidate,” Davido said.
The singer’s comment highlights a difference in political positioning between himself and his uncle, as he appears to be keeping his options open ahead of the election.
Davido has previously been vocal about political issues in Nigeria and has expressed opinions on leadership and governance. However, his latest statement suggests that he is yet to settle on a preferred candidate for the forthcoming presidential contest.
