“I Have No Regrets”- Cleric Jingir Reaffirms Support For Muslim-Muslim Ticket

  • Ahmad Jingir supports a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket and stands by his controversial position.
  • He has no regrets about his previous comments despite facing criticism.
  • Jingir emphasizes his commitment to publicly express his views on the matter whenever it arises.

Islamic cleric Ahmad Jingir has stood by his controversial position in support of a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, insisting that he has no regrets about his previous comments despite criticism from some quarters.

Jingir maintained that he would continue to express his position publicly whenever the issue arises, stressing that his support for a Muslim-Muslim ticket remains firm.

The cleric reportedly made the remarks while addressing reactions to his stance, making it clear that criticism would not make him withdraw his position.

According to him, he has no reason to apologise or retract the statements he previously made on the matter.

“I have no regrets about the things I said and I will continue to say them everywhere. Muslim-Muslim is my choice,” Jingir said.

His comments have continued to generate reactions, particularly given the longstanding debate in Nigeria over religious balancing in political leadership.

Supporters of the Muslim-Muslim ticket argue that political competence and the ability to govern effectively should take precedence over religious considerations. Critics, however, have expressed concerns about religious representation and the need for inclusivity in a country with both Christian and Muslim populations.

Jingir’s latest remarks indicate that he remains unapologetic about his position and intends to continue advocating for the political arrangement he believes in.
