“I have technology that can open gutters, stop flooding in Lagos” — Music manager Ubi Franklin

Music manager Ubi Franklin has claimed that he possesses technology capable of opening up blocked gutters across Lagos State and helping to prevent flooding.
Franklin made the claim while recounting his experience during a major flood in Lagos, which he said occurred in 2018.

According to Franklin, the flooding was severe enough to leave vehicles submerged in floodwater, with residents reportedly seeing crocodiles in some areas.
He recalled that his office was also affected by the flooding, despite believing the building would not be vulnerable.
Franklin said his Mercedes-Benz C300 was parked at the office when he arrived and found that floodwater had risen above the bonnet.
He explained that the water level was so high that a person inside the vehicle could barely see the road ahead.
The music manager said he had initially left the office in his Prado before returning after seeing reports of the flooding on social media.
However, he claimed that his Prado was also affected, with the floodwater reaching the engine level when he arrived.
Franklin said investigations conducted when workers returned to the area revealed that some construction activities had blocked several drainage channels.
He argued that blocked gutters and gullies can contribute significantly to flooding, particularly when heavy rainfall prevents water from flowing freely.
Franklin offers proposed technology
Franklin said he had a technology that could help clear blocked gutters and restore the free flow of water across Lagos.
He specifically mentioned Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, saying he was willing to discuss the technology with him.
“I have something that if Tokunbo is ready, the commissioner, I can sit with him and discuss it. And all the gullies in Lagos will be open. I have it, it’s a technology.”
Franklin further claimed that the technology could open up drainage channels across Lagos and improve water flow.
“There’s a technology I have, right? That will open up all the gullies in Lagos and get free flow of water.”
His comments come amid ongoing concerns about flooding, blocked drainage channels and the need for effective flood-control measures across Lagos.
