Inside EuroMatch: The Polish gaming group powering NPFL’s new $7.5m deal

EuroMatch Group has stepped into Nigerian football’s spotlight after signing a three-year, $7.5m title sponsorship deal with the Nigeria Premier Football League, ending the league’s decade-long search for a title backer.

The Warsaw-based company operates as a private investment and technology firm focused squarely on the global regulated gaming industry. EuroMatch builds and scales technology ventures, gaming infrastructure, and consumer brands across licensed international markets. Its portfolio spans two arms: Euromatch, a consumer-facing B2C sportsbook brand, and GB2B, a B2B gaming technology platform serving licensed operators worldwide.

The group already runs licensed gaming operations in Nigeria and Kenya, and it’s actively chasing regulatory approval in Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Mozambique. EuroMatch aims to plant its flag in seven regulated jurisdictions as part of a broader international expansion push and Nigeria’s top-flight league now sits at the center of that strategy.

Group Chairman Sadi Semih framed the NPFL deal as more than a marketing play. He described the partnership as a strategic investment in Nigerian football, pledging that EuroMatch would work alongside the NPFL and other stakeholders to deliver sustainable value and boost the league’s international visibility.

Under the agreement, EuroMatch will inject $2.5m annually into the league through 2029, pushing the total package to $7.5m. The company will channel 60 per cent of that yearly sum $1.5m directly to the NPFL’s 20 clubs, translating to roughly N2.019bn shared across the league each season at current exchange rates.

EuroMatch’s entrance ends a sponsorship drought stretching back to 2016, when Globacom’s title sponsorship the league’s last major backing deal expired. The NPFL had operated under a multi-sponsor model in the years since, reverting to its plain name while it searched for a replacement.

NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye welcomed the investment, noting that the funds would directly boost player wages and welfare across the league’s clubs as the 2026/27 season kicks off Friday.
