Residents at Osisioma Junction in Abia State in Nigeria has reportedly discovered an abandoned newborn baby this morning, found wrapped and left inside a cardboard box.
According to the account, the infant, dressed in baby clothing and a knitted cap, was found alone at the location, with no indication of who left the child or under what circumstances.
Photos and video from the scene show the baby lying quietly inside the box, appearing to be safe at the time of discovery.
Details regarding the baby’s current condition and whereabouts following the discovery have not yet been made available.
It is not yet clear whether the child has been handed over to local authorities, a hospital, or child welfare services for further care.
