NPP Gave Me A Bag Full Of Money In Attempt To Stop Me From Speaking For NDC —Captain Smart Reveals As He Pursues Gomoa West MP Bid
Broadcast journalist Captain Smart has made a striking claim about his history of activism for the NDC, revealing that he has been arrested 39 times because of his support for the party, as he continues his campaign to become the Member of Parliament for the Gomoa West Constituency on the NDC ticket.
“I have been arrested 39 times because of the NDC, and after one of the arrests, I was presented with a ‘Ghana Must Go’ bag full of money to stop speaking for the NDC, but I rejected it. No presenter has worked for the NDC more than I have,” he said.
The comments come as part of Captain Smart’s broader campaign for the Gomoa West parliamentary seat, a bid that has already seen him resign from his role at Onua TV, secure endorsements from local chiefs, and clash publicly with the constituency’s sitting MP, Richard Gyan-Mensah.
His remarks are likely to add further weight to his campaign narrative, positioning himself as a longstanding and loyal party figure ahead of the NDC’s parliamentary primaries for the 2028 election.
