Onaiyekan: Don’t forget what you told me, Amaechi warns Bwala

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has challenged Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, not to forget a private conversation they had after the presidential aide left former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Amaechi made the remark on Tuesday during an appearance on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, while reacting to the controversy surrounding comments made about Cardinal John Onaiyekan.

According to the former Rivers State governor, he would not disclose the details of his conversation with Bwala because it was made in confidence.

“The only thing I am seeing with Tinubu’s government today, he and his people… Bwala should not forget what he told me when I called him. I called Bwala when he left Atiku. I know what he told me,” Amaechi said.

“He knows. I will not tell Nigerians. Let him confront me. I guess Bwala spoke to me in confidence, so let me keep that confidence.”

Amaechi also warned that he and his political allies were prepared to respond in equal measure to political attacks.

“We’ll be ready to abuse anybody. We will abuse anybody who is ready to abuse anybody. We’ll descend as low as they want,” he said.

“The President says all is fair in politics. We will descend to that level if that’s what they want.”
