Osun Election 2026 : I Was Treated With Respect — Physically Challenged Voter Akinsola Praises Officials

A physically challenged voter, Aminat Akinsola, has commended election officials at her polling unit in Ejigbo, Osun State, for making the voting process more accessible during Saturday’s governorship election.
Akinsola, who cast her ballot at Polling Unit 6, Ward 4, said officials took her condition into consideration during accreditation and voting.
She said the arrangement spared her the difficulty of waiting in line with other voters and enabled her to participate in the election with ease, according to Tribune.
“I’m so happy because I was treated with respect while I was trying to cast my vote. I was even the first person to be accredited,” Akinsola said.
She also praised the peaceful atmosphere at the polling unit, saying voters were able to arrive and exercise their franchise without disruption.
Akinsola expressed hope that the outcome of the election would reflect the wishes of the people of Osun State.
Meanwhile, security personnel were deployed around the polling unit to maintain order and ensure a smooth voting process.
The operatives also assisted in coordinating the movement of voters as the exercise progressed.
As part of crowd-control measures, young voters at the polling unit were grouped according to gender to help manage the crowd and prevent disorder.
The development came as voters across Osun State turned out to elect the next governor of the state.
