President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the re-election of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as a “fitting assurance” that democracy will continue to flourish in Nigeria.
Tinubu stated this in a message posted on his official X account on Sunday, where he congratulated Adeleke on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election.
The President said he had earlier called Adeleke to congratulate him, noting that the outcome of the election had confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State had in the governor.
“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke @AAdeleke_01 earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him,” Tinubu wrote.
He wished Adeleke success as he prepares to lead the state for another four years, while urging the governor to use his renewed mandate to unite the people of Osun irrespective of their political affiliations.
“Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election,” the President said.
Tinubu also commended other candidates who participated in the election, praising what he described as their courage and discipline throughout the electoral process.

According to him, their participation contributed to deepening Nigeria’s democratic culture and enriching the country’s electoral process.
“The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land,” he added.
The President also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
The President concluded his message by praying for the continued growth and strengthening of Nigeria’s democracy.
“May our democracy continue to thrive and be strengthened. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Tinubu said.
