Social media activist VeryDarkMan has showcased the progress of a secondary school project in Ahoada, Rivers State, saying about ₦290 million has been spent on the construction.

In a video shared online, the activist took viewers around the facility, showing classrooms, a clinic, football field, perimeter fencing and other sections of the project.

VeryDarkMan linked the project to his broader push for accountability and also announced that the “Ratel political party” would soon emerge, asking Nigerians to prepare to vote for the party in the future.

According to him, the school was funded through donations and the spending on the project was properly documented. He also insisted that quality materials were used in the construction and said only minor finishing touches remained.

The activist credited music star Burna Boy for contributing to the project after he was reportedly asked to take charge of rebuilding the school. He said the singer’s financial support helped the construction reach its current stage.

VeryDarkMan also challenged the government to show him a public school that is better than the facility, stressing his belief in transparency and proper management of funds.

“Credibility, you cannot buy it with money,” he said, while promising that every naira spent on the project would be accounted for.

The development has, however, generated mixed reactions online, particularly after VeryDarkMan linked the project to his political ambitions.
