Nigerian content creator Anti Abiba has announced the death of her brother, revealing that financial difficulties prevented her family from continuing his medical treatment.
Sharing her painful experience, the content creator lamented the high cost of healthcare in Nigeria, saying that a person’s chances of survival often depend on their financial situation.
According to Anti Abiba, her brother died just 48 hours after they brought him home from the hospital because the family could no longer afford the cost of his treatment.
“In Nigeria, your chance of survival depends on how much you have. I lost my brother 48 hours after we brought him home from the hospital because we ran out of money to continue his treatment,” she said.
Her revelation has drawn attention to the financial challenges families face when seeking medical care for loved ones, particularly when they are unable to meet the cost of prolonged treatment.
The tragedy has also highlighted concerns about access to affordable healthcare and the difficult decisions families may face when their resources are exhausted while trying to save a loved one.
