Michael Carrick has urged Manchester United supporters to remain calm after his team suffered a shocking 2-0 defeat against newly promoted Hull City.
The match took place at the MKM Stadium on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
Manchester United entered the new campaign with high expectations after finishing third last season and qualifying for the Champions League.
However, Hull City looked stronger and more organised throughout the game. The victory was Hull’s first Premier League win against Manchester United.

Carrick admitted that Manchester United made mistakes and needed to improve. However, he insisted that one defeat would not change the club’s plans.
“Two goals is frustrating anyway; they decided the game today and there’s things to improve on.”
Carrick said falling behind against a newly promoted team made the match more difficult. He added that the players would study their mistakes and work on becoming stronger.
Manchester United will now prepare to face Ipswich Town at Old Trafford. Hull City will travel to play fellow newcomers Coventry City.
