Taylor Swift Gives $50,000 To Mother Injured While Saving Teen In Road Crash

Taylor Swift has stepped in to support a Connecticut mother who suffered life-threatening injuries after putting herself in danger to save a teenager following a road accident.

Swift donated $50,000 to a GoFundMe campaign for Ashley Taunton, 42, a certified nursing assistant and mother of three who was injured on Interstate 95 in Rhode Island in July.

Taunton was travelling with her youngest daughter when she stopped after seeing a group of teenagers whose vehicle had lost control in the rain. As she helped them move away from the scene, another car hydroplaned towards the group.

Taunton pushed one of the teenagers out of the vehicle’s path but was struck by the car herself.

She has undergone major surgeries and faces further treatment, with her family expecting her recovery to take up to a year.

Swift’s contribution was the largest single donation to the fundraiser as of Friday, August 28, according to reports. The campaign had raised more than $64,000, while a separate Meal Train fundraiser for the family had collected over $16,000.

Swift also left a personal message for Taunton on the fundraising page: “Wishing you the best recovery possible and sending love to your family! Taylor.”

The donation adds to Swift’s history of supporting people facing medical emergencies and families experiencing unexpected hardship.
