Two passengers have agreed to leave an Air Peace flight after accepting a fifty percent discount, resolving a seating dispute that had held up the aircraft’s departure.
The incident began when a female passenger refused to disembark despite airline staff insisting the flight was fully booked, claiming she held a valid ticket and that another passenger had occupied her seat.
Air Peace staff appealed for volunteers willing to take the next flight in exchange for a fifty percent discount, but passengers initially showed no interest.
Eventually, two travellers accepted the deal and agreed to leave the aircraft, allowing the woman at the centre of the dispute to remain aboard.
The arrangement broke the standoff and enabled the flight to proceed.
The episode has sparked significant online discussion, with many Nigerians questioning how passengers holding valid tickets ended up in a position where they had to negotiate for seats on a flight they had already paid for.
Social media users expressed frustration over what they saw as poor airline management and overbooking practices that create unnecessary conflict between passengers and staff.
