The Spokesman, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, made the disclosure in a statement in Calabar on Friday.
Eitokpah said that the tricycle numbered: AZA 504 QJ, was recovered at Mayne Avenue, Calabar South, on Sept. 15, following credible information.
He said that the suspect was apprehended while allegedly negotiating the sale of the tricycle.
The police spokesperson said that preliminary investigation showed that the suspect stole the tricycle from Akwa Ibom, and drove it to Calabar.
“The tricycle has been recovered and secured as an exhibit, efforts are ongoing to trace and establish its rightful ownership,” he said.
In another incident, the police command in Cross River said it had detained a 18-year old suspect over the theft of a power generator at Nyawawo Street, Calabar South.
Eitokpah further said that the generator had been recovered and secured as an exhibit.
He said that investigation was ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the theft, and to confirm the rightful owner of the generator.
