Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will visit Anambra State on September 10 for the first time since taking office.
The visit aims to strengthen collaboration between the federal and state governments on programmes addressing poverty, economic empowerment and food security.
A key part of the visit will be the empowerment of 5,000 people under the government’s poverty reduction initiative.
This programme provides practical economic support to help vulnerable people and households become more productive and improve their livelihoods.
The First Lady will also launch the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East region on the same day.
The programme is designed to strengthen food security and assist vulnerable households struggling with hunger and nutrition concerns.
While in the state, she will visit a federal polytechnic to commission major projects at the institution.
The visit reflects the growing partnership between the federal government and Anambra State.
The President previously visited the state and praised its development efforts under the state governor.
The visit is expected to benefit thousands of residents through the empowerment programmes and other interventions scheduled for the day.
