Nigerian comedian and actor Apama has broken his silence following the arrest of Ifeanyi Onukwubiri of TMT Travels and Tours over allegations of defrauding more than 200 Nigerians through visa-related transactions.
The development has sparked reactions online, with some individuals calling for Apama’s arrest after claiming that he was an ambassador or promoter of TMT Travels and Tours.
Responding to the allegations, Apama denied having any formal relationship with the company and maintained that he had never received money from TMT or benefited from its visa services.
“For those saying I should be arrested, I have never collected a dime from TMT I’m not his ambassador, and he has never processed any visa for me. I even messaged TMT earlier this year, asking them to settle the people he was owing. If he had listened to me, this case wouldn’t have gotten to VeryDarkMan,” Apama said.
The entertainer also disclosed that he had previously reached out to TMT regarding complaints from individuals who were allegedly owed money, urging the company to resolve the outstanding issues.
According to Apama, his intervention came before the matter escalated publicly, suggesting that he had attempted to encourage TMT to settle its alleged debts before the controversy attracted wider attention.
His clarification comes amid growing scrutiny surrounding TMT Travels and Tours and its dealings with customers seeking visa-related services.
