Ighalo explained that he was 27 when the opportunity to move to China came, and by then, he had already achieved one of his major ambitions of playing in the English Premier League.
According to the striker, the Chinese transfer presented an opportunity to secure his financial future, prompting him to accept the offer.

“I was 27 years old when I went to China, and then I had already fulfilled my personal dreams of playing in the Premier League. When the China transfer opportunity came again, I knew that was my opportunity to make money, and I decided and grabbed it, because the club already accepted my offer without me knowing”
Ighalo’s move to China became a significant chapter in his career, as he prioritised the financial opportunity after accomplishing his personal target of featuring in the Premier League.
